The Fox River Ecosystem Partnership (FREP) was awarded a
Kane County Riverboat Fund Grant in 2009 to launch a new project
- The Kane County Rain Garden Initiative. FREP
has partnered with Kane-DuPage Soil & Water Conservation
District, University of Illinois Extension, and the Fox Valley
Park District on project efforts in Kane County, including the
creation of a demonstration rain garden at the University of
Illinois Research Farm in St. Charles, development of school
curriculum, the creation of a resource CD, and programs/events
to highlight rain gardens in the County.
FREP is involved with the entire Fox River watershed, which
includes several additional counties in northern Illinois.
Therefore, these Rain Garden Initiative web pages will include
resources for all of our stakeholders, and will highlight
activities and efforts throughout the watershed. |
